Statement of Significance
A very large corrugated iron building constructed in 1936/7, with a pitched roof supported on full span queen post timber trusses and a brick gable on the Kavanagh Street frontage.
The building was notable for being the largest surviving corrugated iron building in South Melbourne, its trussed roof which provided a clear floor area below and for its associations with motor vehicle body building, which was an important industry in South Melbourne's inter-war period.
Classified: Local October 1989. Subsequently demolished.
