COUNTESS OF MALMSBURY MINE SITE - History
Heritage Inventory History of Site: The site was operating during 1865 when the Mining Surveyor's Report stated that a steam engine was being erected at the site, to be used for puddling and pumping.
COUNTESS OF MALMSBURY MINE SITE - Interpretation of Site
Heritage Inventory Interpretation: The mine probably only operated for a short time in the mid-1860s. The surviving structural remains probably supported or housed machinery.

COUNTESS OF MALMSBURY MINE SITE - Heritage Inventory Description
An extensive low mound of mullock and basalt debris, with two possible mine shafts and the remnants of a ruined brick and bluestone structure.
Heritage Inventory Significance: Moderate archaeological and historical significance.
