JAMES HENRY HOUSE SITE - History
Heritage Inventory History of Site: The house was constructed, circa 1900, on land that was originally "common" land . The well was used by travellers during the 1850s. The old road was an alternative route from Faraday to Harcourt and passed between the house site and the well. Its closure was gazetted in 1951.Heritage Inventory Description
JAMES HENRY HOUSE SITE - Heritage Inventory Description
A house site, marked by concrete footings, a cellar, remnants of garden and a tennis court. A former road passes through the site. to the west. On the west side of the road is a spring fed, brick lined well.
Heritage Inventory Significance: Moderate regional historical and archaeological significance.
