Heritage Inventory Significance: SOURCE: NATIONAL TRUST CITATION:A THREE- STOREY RESIDENCE AND SURGERY BUILT FOR DR. J. G. BEANEY IN 1886, AN ORNATE "BOOM STYLE" COMPETITION-WINNING DESIGN BY ARCHITECT W. SALWAY, SUBSEQUENTLY EXTENDED ON BOTH COLLINS AND RUSSEL STREET FRONTS, A STOREY ADDED AND OTHER ALTERATIONS HAVE BEEN MADE BY THE ALEXANDER CLUB COMPANY OWNERS AND OCCUPIERS SINCE 1916.
