Statement of Significance
The house, 6172 Ararat-St Arnaud Road, Beazleys Bridge, has significance as an example of the interwar homestead Bungalow style. Possibly built between the 1920s and 1940s during a period of prosperity in the area, the house appears to be in good condition when viewed from the road.
The house, 6172 Ararat-St Arnaud Road, Beazleys Bridge, is architecturally significant at a LOCAL level. It demonstrates original design qualities of an interwar homestead Bungalow style. These qualities include the broad hipped roof form, together with the broken back verandah that projects at the front and sides. Other intact or appropriate qualities include the single storey height, terra cotta tiled roof cladding, two elongated concrete block chimneys with cream brick bands, simulated masonry concrete block wall construction, round and paired Doric verandah columns on cream brick piers, timber framed double hung windows and the timber framed and glazed double entrance doors.
The house, 6172 Ararat-St Arnaud Road, Beazleys Bridge, is historically significant at a LOCAL level. It is associated with a period of prosperity in the area during the 1920s and 1940s, and reflects the few residential developments in the area at that time.

House, 6172 Ararat-St Arnaud Road, BEAZLEYS BRIDGE - Physical Description 1
The house, 6172 Ararat-St Arnaud Road, Beazleys Bridge, is located within a rural setting, has some eucalypts and exotic trees, elevated round galvanised steel water tanks, and an early gabled garage outbuilding adjacent. The immediate surrounds are largely open grassed areas with perimeter flower beds. There is an early solid random rubble stone fence at the front, approximately 1200 mm high.
The single storey, simulated masonry concrete block interwar homestead Bungalow styled house is characterised by a broad hipped roof form, together with a broken back verandah at projects at the front and sides. There is also a rear hipped roof form that projects towards the rear. These roof forms are clad in terra cotta tiles. Two early elongated concrete block chimneys with cream brick bands adorn the roofline.
An early feature of the design is the encircling verandah. It is supported by early round and paired Doric columns on cream brick piers.
Other early features of the design include the timber framed double hung windows and the timber framed and glazed double entrance doors.
