Statement of Significance
The Public Weighbridge No. 918 and machinery cabin, in Cubitt Street (near corner Main Street), Great Western, make a significant historical and architectural contribution to the central township area.
The Public Weighbridge No. 918 and machinery cabin, in Cubitt Street, are historically and architecturally significant at a LOCAL level. They are associated with infrastructure developments in Great Western in the 1920s, and demonstrate important constructional and design qualities for that period. For the weighbridge these qualities include the concrete construction and steel weighing plate. For the cabin, these qualities include the simple steeply pitched gable roof form, galvanised corrugated iron roof cladding (overpainted red), horizontal weatherboard wall cladding, timber framed window, and the vertically boarded timber door.
Overall, the Public Weighbridge No. 918 and machinery cabin, in Cubitt Street (near corner Main Street), Great Western, are of LOCAL significance.

The weighbridge and hut, Cubitt Street (near corner Main Street), Great Western, make a significant architectural and historical contribution to the central township area.
The concrete weighbridge has a steel platform and concrete driveways either side.
Adjacent to the weighbridge is a small machinery cabin. It is characterised by a simple steeply pitched gable roof form with galvanised corrugated iron roof cladding (overpainted red) and horizontal weatherboard wall cladding. A timber framed window is located on each side while a vertically boarded door (with introduced sign above) is situated on a gable end.
