Statement of Significance
The house at 77-79 Stephenson Street is historically and architecturally significant at a CONTRIBUTORY level. It is associated with residential developments in Great Western in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, and it demonstrates some important rudimentary Victorian design qualities. These qualities include the gable roof form that traverses the site, together with the hipped roof form and skillion verandah that project towards the street frontage, as well as the rear skillion section. Other important qualities include the galvanised corrugated iron roof cladding, narrow eaves, horizontal weatherboard and ripple iron wall cladding, timber framed double hung windows, unpainted brick chimney and timber framed doorway.
