Statement of Significance
The double row of sugar gums, fire tower and bell, and the pioneer memorial within the median strip of Stawell Street, Marnoo, have significance as a legacy important community developments in the town. Planted in 1911, the sugar gums help to define the main street.
The sugar gums within the median strip of Stawell Street are aesthetically significant at a LOCAL level. They have important visual qualities and help to define the town's main street, Stawell Street. The sugar gums, fire tower and bell, and pioneer memorial are historically significant at a LOCAL level. They are associated with important developments in the history of Marnoo. In particular, the sugar gums represent an important community achievement in 1911 in the beautification of the town, while the pioneer memorial commemorates 100 years of the town's development from 1873 to 1973.
Overall, the sugar gums, fire tower and bell, and the pioneer memorial are of LOCAL significance.

The street plantation consists of a double line of sugar gums within a wide median strip along the length of Marnoo's main street, Stawell Street. Within the median strip is an early steeltrussed fire tower featuring and early bell, and a stone Pioneer Memorial.
