WARDS HUT - History
Heritage Inventory History of Site:
Site of first dwelling, 1887. The first dwelling is also thought to have functioned as an accommodation house. Hilda Rule Memorial Plantation. Anzac Memorial Park with memorial tree planted after WWII. It has since been destroyed.

Wooden memorial post inscribed with 'site of first Nowa Nowa dwelling - Wards Hut 1887. Currently parkland with six trees planted around the post. Area extends approximately 60 x 50 m to the east of the old Princess Highway. Surface topography suggests the presence of subsurface structures/foundations./n
Heritage Inventory Significance: As first dwelling and accommodation house the site has high local significance.
