Cressy RAAF Airfield - Veterans Description for Public
The former site of the Cressy No. 1 RAAF Armament Training School comprised of 450 acres and was compulsorily acquired by the RAAFfor £4645. RAAF establishments were built throughout country Victoria during the war. The characteristic buildings from the war era are the P1 type accommodation blocks and Bellman type hangars (timber framed, corrugated iron clad). The school is now completely demolished except for concrete foundations, tarmac, concrete aprons, roads and gutters.
