Review listing of ballast mounds in inventory with view to moving them to the Shipwreck database. This is to occur November 2008. Entry 30th May 2008.
Peter Taylor (pers comms) has reported locating two ballast mounds east of the Kerferd Road Pier. The mounds comprise of loose rough-cut rocks approximately 1m high. From Peter Taylor's descriptions, these deposits appear to be from discarded ballast from a ship. There are seven examples of ballast mounds in Hobsons Bay.
