SANDRIDGE BATHS - History
These baths are first shown on Ross 1858 plan, and again in 1877. No further documentary evidence was located. A 'Y' shaped structure is shown on the site in 1858. The Port Melbourne Lifesaving Club now stands on the site.SANDRIDGE BATHS - Interpretation of Site
Given the amount of sand movement in the area, it is probable that archaeological deposits both of relics and structural remains still exist on site, but no archaeological remains were located during field inspection onshore. These are one of the earliest baths complexes in the region and the first in the Sandridge Area. They are of social significance as part of the recreational landscape of this area.
