FREDERICK GAY GRAVE - History
Frederick Gay, described as a pauper, committed suicide aged 65 years by shooting himself, at Toongabbie in 1905. Because of the circumstances of his death, he was buried outside the Toongabbie Cemetery, in a paddock once owned by J T O'Meara. The present monument was erected by Arthur Tanner of the Toongabbie Cemetery Trust, replacing an earlier wooden pole marker.Heritage Inventory Description

The grave is 60 metres from the cemetery fence. It is marked by a granite pillar, 0.5 metres high by 0.25 metres square, with a pyramid peak. The pillar is set in a concrete slab, 0.86 metres square.
