Mitiamo WWII Memorial - Veterans Description for Public
The Mitiamo WWII Memorial is a plaque and granite boulder dedicated to Sergeant Thomas Henry (Harry) Clarke, 2/9 Australian Infantry Battalion. Clarke was killed in action 21st January 1944 at Shaggy Ridge, New Guinea, aged 31 years old. The memorial was donated by his brother Gavin. The inscription on the plaque reads: "Greater love has no one than this. To lay down his life for his friends. John 15-13."
