Veterans Description for Public
Sebastopol Memorial RSL Hall - Veterans Description for Public
In June 1916 a conference of Returned Soldiers' Association recommended formation of the Returned Sailors and Soldiers Imperial League of Australia (RSSILA, now known as the Returned and Service League or RSL). After the First World War RSSILA branches all around Australia commenced a program of building halls in which their members could meet. Many RSL Halls are still in use in their communities and house honour rolls listing the local people who served and died during war.
