Yarrawonga State School WWI Memorial - Veterans Description for Public
The Yarrawonga State School WWI Memorial is located inside the school grounds on Piper and Tom Streets. The monument is dedicated to sixteen former pupils of the School who lost their lives in the First World War. Soon after the war ended sixteen Tamarisk trees were planted in their honour and the small monument erected in 1921. In 1995, the year of the 50th Anniversary of the end of the Second World War, the monument was re-dedicated to all Australian servicemen and women.
