Memorial Window Description & History
Stained Glass Window at Oakleigh Holy Trinity Anglican Church - Memorial Window Description & History
Among the last windows to be installed before the outbreak of the Second World War caused the closure of all stained glass firms as 'non-essential industries' was a three-light Crucifixion at Trinity College Chapel, Parkville. The same cartoon was adapted for Holy Trinity, Oakleigh, one of the earliest of Brooks, Robinson's post-1945 installations. The Oakleigh window was unveiled at the Remembrance Day service and dedicated by the Reverend E Franklin Cooper, Staff-Chaplain RAAF, who also unveiled an opus sectile mosaic tablet that held the names of the fallen in two wars.
