STATEMENT OF SIGNIFICANCE
6 Meakin Street has architectural and historic significance at a local level. The building is a representative example of a timber and render Bungalow residence with a high degree of integrity. The building retains its characteristic form, siting, and details including a curved prominent gable with curved casement window, a timber verandah, a timber fence and posts, and a notable garden. The residence has historical associations with the Marchant family for a period of over forty years.

DESCRIPTION
6 Meakin Street is a timber and render Bungalow residence with a high degree of integrity. The asymmetrical facade features a prominent curved bay with a curved casement window above which cantilevers a flat faced gable at first floor level. This gable above has a pair of four pane windows. The facades feature imitation timber wall shingles beneath the window sill level and stucco above. The skillion verandah has exposed rafters and features carved timber posts and a timber floor. On the comer beneath the verandah is a typical bay window. The roof has been reclad in corrugated iron. The timber fence, gate and carved timber posts at the front of the house appear to be original. The garden is notable and has substantial trees.
