Statement of Significance
The chimney is likely to be associated with a structure such asshepherds hut which occur in the Moyne Shire and is an example ofproperty management on large stations in the region. The hut site andassociated sheds are of historical significance to the Moyne Shire.

WOOLSTHORPE-HEYWARD ROAD HUT 1 - History
Located off the main Woolsthorpe-Heyward Road, approximately 1km west of the Poyntons Road intersection. Approximately 350 m north of the main road in a fenced area surrounded by eucalypts. No evidence of footings for surrounding building located, no other stone present (natural or cultural) indicating substantive residence or outbuilding. It is remains of possible shepherds hut, with chimney left in situ where surrounding structure made of wood has been removed or reclaimed. Bricks indicate 20th century construction, likely an example of property management on large stations in the local region. Possibly corrugated iron also used in construction and removed as is remaining on adjacent shed or re-used to build the shed.WOOLSTHORPE-HEYWARD ROAD HUT 1 - Interpretation of Site

WOOLSTHORPE-HEYWARD ROAD HUT 1 - Heritage Inventory Description
These are remains of a potential shepherds hut within a fenced area with eucalyptus trees. The is a chimney of the hut as well as a shed which contains farming equipment. Of the Shepherds hut only the chimney made of brick and stone remains. The shed which is built of corrugated iron and wood has also collapsed (See Photos).
