Regional level.
Why is it significant?
This Rough-barked Manna Gum is scientifically significant for its outstanding size (for this particular subspecies) in the Mornington Peninsula region. This subspecies is usually stunted and smaller but this specimen is unusually large. The tree is also significant for its contribution to the landscape. It is one of two possible remnant specimens persisting in an urbanised environment. The tree may potentially be a good source of seed stock for revegetation purposes in the area.
