Statement of Significance
National Estate Register:
Naringal, Private Cemetery, Cape Clear, is one of the very few private cemeteries in the State and is a unique exposition and record of the pioneering Rowe family and their settlement at Naringal since 1841. The cemetery was used up till 1969 and is probably one of the oldest cemeteries in Victoria in terms of continuous use. Principal sources of information: Billis, R W and Kenyon, A S pastoral pioneers of Port Phillip Macmillan and Company, Melbourne.

Naringal Private Cemetery - Physical Conditions
National Estate Register:
Naringal, Private Cemetery, Cape Clear, is located on the Naringal Homestead and has been in use by the Rowe family since 1841, when the property was taken up by William Rowe. Rowe himself is buried in the cemetery as are successive generations of the Rowes and their employees. This cemetery is one of only a very few private cemeteries in the State.
