The Schinus molle var. areira (Peppercorn), located outside 37 Josephine Street, Oak Park.
How is it significant?
The Schinus molle var. areira (Peppercorn), located outside 37 Josephine Street, Oak Park is of local historic significance to the City of Moreland.
Why is it significant?
Historic significance, as a remnant of John Pascoe Fawkner's property Belle Vue Park, and possibly the only remaining specimen of a line of trees in this area of the former property. Together, Oak Park Reserve, the remaining Belle Vue Park mansion, and stables, and this tree demonstrate the broader landcape of Belle Vue Park in its early development. (AHC Criteria A.4 & H.1)
