Statement of Significance
A house which appears, from the small portion of the original which can be seen, to have been prefabricated in iron by the same manufacturer as houses in Coventry Street and Patterson Place, South Melbourne, and other related buildings in Geelong, Bridgewater and Moe: to this building, probably of 1853, has been added a pleasant brick facade (possibly c.1881 when the Dorcas Street school was built nearby in similar brick), and the interior and rear portions very substantially denatured, but still leaving one of two original details not to be found in the other surviving buildings of this ilk.
