Statement of Significance
A two-storey rendered brick residence built in the 1860s. The elevation to Howe Crescent is distinguished by a centrally placed pedimental entrance surmounted by a balustraded balcony at first floor level and a short square tower. The house was owned and occupied from 1869 to 1920 by Dr James Barrett and his family; five of his children, including Sir James William and Edith Ellen, were medical practitioners.
