Statement of Significance
Built in 1891/92 this Courthouse, designed by architects Bindley and Brabin of the Public Works Department, is of Renaissance revival style, with balustraded parapets, round arch-headed windows and decorated pediments symmetrically arranged.
Complimentary in style to the Town Hall opposite (1887) and harmoniously related to the adjoining Post Office (1876/77) which incorporates an earlier courthouse.
