Statement of Significance
A stone church erected between 1870-71. The four bay structure has a gabled porch with massive gable and diagonal buttresses. the gables and buttresses to the church itself are equally massive and are relieved by the round-headed windows, the triple 'west' window with hood mould being a distinctive feature.
It is a distinctive and unusual Gothic Revival design, notable for its detailing. The small church also has historical associations with the history of the district and is a notable element in the surrounding landscape. The detail of the gables and buttresses is unusually heavy and the round-headedwindows are unusual, as is their glass (if original).
The church is in good condition and is intact.
Classified: 27/01/1972
File Note: The proposed chancel was never built.
