Statement of Significance
A church of which the nave also functioned as a school (attended by the notorious Ned Kelly),which was erected under the supervision of George & Schneider between 1857 and 1862 with the west elevation derived from a Pugin design.
The chancel was added in 1877 by T A Kelly, to whom the rather unfortunate sacristy has also been ascribed, and alterations to the building in recent years have detracted from its significance.
Classified: 05/05/1977
Revised: 03/03/1998
