Statement of Significance
A church of which the first section of 1865 was designed by William Wardell, and is of interest for the dramatically steep apse with etiolated window and the typically Wardellian sexfoil windows of the clerestory. It is of blue stone with Mount Sturgeon sandstone dressings. The west end was completed in 1902 with a large traceried window flanked by a tower and broach spire in the left and a transverse gable in the right. The spire was completed in 1916 by the local architect Frank Hammond.
