MCKENNAS LANE COBBLED ROAD AND DRY STONE WALL - History
Heritage Inventory History of Site: The cobbled lane and drystone wall predates 1940, and may have originally led to a homestead closer to the Yarrowee River.
MCKENNAS LANE COBBLED ROAD AND DRY STONE WALL - Interpretation of Site
Heritage Inventory Interpretation: The cobbles were laid down in the late 1800s to combat the extreme muddiness of the road - former swamp. The lane has been used by farmers to access back paddock and have added to the lane every couple of years to combat the slush. The basalt from the dry stone wall may have been added to it.
