Statement of Significance
Rare or Localised:
A tree of a species or variety that is rare or of very localised distribution.
Growing in conjunction with Acmena smithii, Eucalyptus botryoides, Pittosporum undulatum and Acacia spp. this specimen is a mature example of a species rare in Victoria and listed as vulnerable. There is a small population south of Orbost, east of the Snowy River, and north east of Mallacoota. This population of about five trees is at risk from road widening and weed competition.
The tree is located 91 metres from the picnic table, on the roadside reserve, east of the junction with Lane Road, along the Snowy River, south of Orbost.
