Outstanding Example of Species:
A tree that is an outstanding example of its species.
A large and well-shaped tree of this unusual species, a native of the Mediterranean. The tree has grown into an attractive lawn specimen although it contains small amounts of deadwood. Other large examples are known at Eastern Park, Geelong and Burswood, Portland. This tree, however, is by far the best example.
This tree is located at the northern end of the gardens and east of Palm Avenue.
