BELL'S LEAD - History
Heritage Inventory History of Site: This site is located on the line of Bell's Lead, an alluvial lead that was traced from Back Creek in 1863. No information has been found as to the name of the mine or to the dates when it operated at this site.

Heritage Inventory Interpretation: Gold mining site from the 1860s. Deep lead mining.

BELL'S LEAD - Heritage Inventory Description
The site is marked by a tall mullock heap, with a pine tree growing on the top. A depression on the east side may be a filled shaft.
Heritage Inventory Significance: Low archaeological significance. There is some likelihood that there are in situ archaeological deposits. The site is of low regional historical significance.
