JOHN THOMAS HOUSE - History
Heritage Inventory History of Site: John Thomas is listed as the owner of about one acre of land beside Forest Creek in 1859, but moved a short distance to the east to the present site when his block was threatened with inundation from the newly constructed Expedition Pass reservoir. Thomas purchased this land at a government land sale on 8 April 1876.Heritage Inventory Description
JOHN THOMAS HOUSE - Heritage Inventory Description
SIngle room granite and sandstone house. Reputedly the first house in Faraday, circa 1859. The roof has some remaining large wooden shingles. There is also a dairy on site, and numerous old sheds and yards.
Heritage Inventory Significance: High local historical significance due to the role that Thomas played in the history of Faraday and the continuing association of his decendents with the area. Moderate archaeological significance as the house is relatively undisturbed and of an early date.

Heritage Inventory Site Features: - single room granite and sandstone house. The roof is largely ruined. The chimney structure is largely incorporated into the granite construction and there is a small square red brick chimney stack. - an old dairy, sheds and yards with post and rail fittings.
