Heritage Inventory History of Site: Possibly dates to the mid 1850s gold rush era. Blackjack Gully was rushed in July 1855.

Heritage Inventory Interpretation: The structure appears to be miner's hut dating from the 1850s.

BLACKJACK GULLY MINER'S HUT - Heritage Inventory Description
Collapsed chimney and wall ruins of slate stone in mud mortar. The chimney is preserved to about one metre high. Scattered stone collapse.
Heritage Inventory Significance: Moderate archaeological significance and moderate local historical significance.
