INGRAM'S SKYLINE - History
Heritage Inventory History of Site: The skyline was used in the mid 1940s to bring logs to the tramline where a Fordson rail tractor hauled the trucks to the top of the incline. Once lowered down the incline the logs were hauled to Ingrams Mill. Road trucks took over this section after 1949.Heritage Inventory Description
INGRAM'S SKYLINE - Heritage Inventory Description
Principle feature is a massive 65mm diameter steel cable stretching for approximately 1km in a straight line through the bush, once used for log transport. At eastern end of cable a snatch box pulley is attached, and a few hundred metres along the cable is what appears to have been a slide which ran along it. Adjacent to this is an unidentifiable piece of machinery. About 100-200m south are the remains of one hut, plus a weatherboard hut that is still standing.
Heritage Inventory Significance: State. This seems to be the only surviving evidence of skyline haulage in the area.
