AXFORD ROAD RUIN - History
Heritage Inventory History of Site: Originally part of Bushy Park Run, selected by J. Smith 02/05/1873 (section 18 lands file no. 5863/33). Later subdivided as orchards and mixed farms.
AXFORD ROAD RUIN - Interpretation of Site
Site originally used for agricultural purposes in late 19th century, followed by pastoral activities such as farming and orchards. Land is now managed by Parks Victoria with restrcited access.
AXFORD ROAD RUIN - Archaeological Significance
Possibility for subsurface deposits to exist in relation to the farm house and out buildings and possibly artefacts within the well.
AXFORD ROAD RUIN - Historical Significance
Some historical significance in connection with first owner J. Smith 1878, and as an early farm site in the area. Local significance.

Ruins of former farm house and outbuildings with surviving orchard and garden trees.
Heritage Inventory Significance: Well preserved archaeological remains of early farm property from late nineteenth century selection or possibly 1850's pastoral run.

House foudations can be traced in part by bricks and depression.
