WAHRING ROADSIDE RUIN - History
Heritage Inventory History of Site: Site originally part of Noorilim Run of 1840's (Pre-emptive Right purchased by W Webster 1856). Area resumed for closer settlement c. 1870 with site block comprising section 14 and 15 selected 25/11/1874 by Theodore Tidboald. Ruin evidently was a small raodside inn predating selection. Inn may have served early crossing place on the Goulburn River.

Heritage Inventory Interpretation: Small brick and timber structure formerly on brick and stone foundations, adjacent to highway and near former crossing point at Goulburn River to Murchison East.

Brick and stone rubble pushed into heap with soil and domestic rubbish - ceramics, glass, iron adjacent to highway in corner of paddock. Some foudations visible.
Heritage Inventory Significance: Potential intact mid 19th century deposits associated with roadside inn.
