ALEXANDRA-RUBICON TRAMWAY - History
Heritage Inventory History of Site: A two foot gauge steam tramway from Alexandra to Lower Rubicon was built by the Rubicon KLmber and tramway Company Pty Ltd and opened in December 1912. A Lower Rubicon (the Depot) it connected with the 3'6" gauge horse tramway serving Clark and Kidd's sawmill in the forest. The 2 footgauge Alexandra line was extended to Tin Hut by the SEC in 1926.Heritage Inventory Description

General recording for timber tramway between Rubicon Valley and Alexandra. Remains of bed, cuttings and embankments. Recorded in sections and more detail by Peter Evans for the AHC in 1993 report.
