GROWLERS CREEK WINCH - History
Heritage Inventory History of Site: The Western Tyers area was opened up for timber extraction after 1927. This winch was associated with the operations of Hector Ingram who milled the Buckles Spur area in the 1940s. The winch would be used to haul timber from below the winch site.Heritage Inventory Description

A steam powered winch strongly anchored behind a 1.5m diameter log which is in turn secured behind a 1.5 - 2.0m diameter dead tree stump.
