MINNIEDALE ROAD - History
Heritage Inventory History of Site: The site is at the centre of a selection taken up in the 1870s and used to run sheep. The land was purchased in the 1970s by the State Electricity commission and is now leased from Loy Yang Power by a tenant farmer.
MINNIEDALE ROAD - Interpretation of Site
Heritage Inventory Interpretation: The woolshed is constructed of sawn logs, as are the associated pens. The sawn timber may have originated from a sawmill at Loy Yang, which operated from the 1870s. A twentieth century date is more likely. The footings of the homestead are concrete and therefore twentieth century. The cistern and the brick drain are of hand made brick and may be nineteenth century.
