WISELEIGH RAIL BRIDGE - History
Heritage Inventory History of Site: Railway line was installed in 1916 and connected Bairnsdale with Orbost. Decommissioned late 80s due to insufficient trade. Could not compete with road transport.
WISELEIGH RAIL BRIDGE - Interpretation of Site
Heritage Inventory Interpretation: site indicates the expansion period of the area as a result of improved transport. It is a significant feature of the remaining historic landscape of this relatively undeveloped region.

WISELEIGH RAIL BRIDGE - Heritage Inventory Description
Site comprises disused section of wooden trestle railway bridge crossing Deep Creek and Omeo Highway. The section of bride over hwy has been dismantled (10-15 m). Remaining section relatively intact although weathered. Site comprises of high (6m approx) wooden trestle railway bridge (single tracks) spanning approx 75m.
Heritage Inventory Significance: Bridges significance is largely as being part of the Bairnsdale to Orbost Railway line rather than its individual design, construction or age.Scientific significance - Low to moderate.Historic significance - High Local.
