DUNLOP MINE - History
Heritage Inventory History of Site: In 1910, the Dunlop Co. sank a shaft to water-level, then erected a small treatment mill to test the value of its lode. The following year, the battery was fully employed and the company increased its plant. Nothing more is known of the Dunlop mine or battery.Heritage Inventory Description
DUNLOP MINE - Heritage Inventory Description
Battery - intact 5-head iron-framed battery, still standing. Boiler - intact vertical boiler, in excellent condition and retains most of its fittings, only the flue is missing. Dam - large full dam, no trace of tailings. Mine workings - shaft and mullock.

Heritage Inventory Site Features: Features of the Dunlop battery site are an intact battery, vertical boiler, dam, and mine workings.BatteryùAn intact 5-head iron-framed battery, still standing. The manufacturerÆs plate reads: æThompson & Co., Engineers & Iron Founders, CastlemaineÆ. The cam shaft has a solid iron 5-ft fly wheel and the stampers have screw-type stems. BoilerùAn intact vertical boiler (10 ft x 5 ft) which has fallen onto its side. The boiler is in excellent condition and retains most of its fittings, including the safety valveùonly the flue is missing. DamùA large, full dam is situated below the boiler. No trace was found of any tailings.Mine workingsùShaft and mullock.
