Of local historic significance because it was built by one of the area's selectors. The Eloera Homestead represents the development of tourism in the area, having changed from a farmhouse to a guesthouse. RNE criterion A.4
The Eloera Homestead is of aesthetic significance as an example of a largely intact nineteenth century gothic homestead. Although the original house has been added to over a number of years, the recent additions have largely been sympathetic to the original design.

Eloera Homestead - Physical Description 1
Eloera Homestead is a rustic Gothic style residence with rendered walls on a random rubble stone plinth and a steeply pitched gabled roof. The front gable end has ornate timber fretwork bargeboards and a turned timber finial and contains a multi-pane timber-framed casement window.
The house was constructed in a number of stages, with later additions generally sympathetic to the original design. The timber entry porch is relatively recent.Heritage Study and Grading
