FLYNNS CREEK UPPER SCHOOL - Interpretation of Site
Heritage Inventory Interpretation: Site of Flynns Creek School, established in the late Nineteenth Century and demolished in the mid to late Twentieth Century.
Heritage Inventory Description
FLYNNS CREEK UPPER SCHOOL - Heritage Inventory Description
Footings, vegetation, foundations and some loose building material related to the demolished Flynns Creek School.
Heritage Inventory Significance: Local. The foundations of a late 19th Century (preserved) school site with fair structural integrity (footings intact). Full significance to be determined.
Heritage Inventory Key Components: Row of large cypress pine trees (Cypressus macrocarpa), wooden stumps in situ, concrete slabs (function unknown) still in situ, concrete foundations girls and boys toilets, building materials including small amount of brick, concrete, corrugated iron, fencing remnants (posts and some decorative wire fencing 1920s style), posts in situ. Heritage Inventory Site Features: Line of pine trees at front fenceline. Large pine trees surrounding school. Pipeline easement. Survey Marker labelled 'CH4550'. Small patch of exotic flowers. Schoolyard fenceline, gatepost, posts. Stumps in situ associated with concrete slabs. Concrete foundations for boys and girls toilets. Building rubble discarded in various locations.
