Queenscliff Inn, 59 Hesse Street, Queenscliff - Physical Description 1
Olinda House is a substantial, hip-roofed two-storey building. It is set on an asymmetrically bayed plan and built of red bricks with stucco dressings. The two-level, bayed cast-iron verandah is near to intact with the exception of the upper-level balustrading which has been replaced with timber. The original panels which had a central branching sunflower motif were from the Excelsior Foundry, South Melbourne.
The front fence which has been rebuilt in brickwork, was originally built of iron-capped timber posts with panelled, corrugated iron balustrades. Other missing details include the trellis to the tympanum of the scalloped and arched timber pediment to the upperlevel verandah, the terracotta ridging and the nameplate which adorned the lower verandah fascia.(3)
