Timber road bridge dating to late 19th to early 20th centuries.
TOOLERN CREEK RUINOUS BRIDGE AND ROAD CUTTING - Archaeological Significance
The site is of medium archaeological significance maintaining a high level of integrity and medium intactness. The decking in the central portion of the bridge has been disturbed and a section ~ 1 m wide has been cut into the embankment at the east to prevent traffic use. There is the potential for the disturbed decking section to remain in the creek under/ near the bridge.
TOOLERN CREEK RUINOUS BRIDGE AND ROAD CUTTING - Historical Significance
The site is of local historical significance for its relationship with transport routes throughout the Shire from the early 20th century. It is important as one of three bridge ruins in Melton Shire, the other two are the ruin on Beattys Road in Rockbank (H7822-0258) and Staughtons bridge ruin forming part of the Eynesbury VHR listing (H0362).

TOOLERN CREEK RUINOUS BRIDGE AND ROAD CUTTING - Heritage Inventory Description
Site comprises a ruinous timber bridge, ~ 4.5 m wide with quarried bluestone abutments and is located over Toolern Creek. The road cutting on the east and west sides of the bridge remains and adjoins Holden Road at the east. Timber railing, decking and piles and abutments remain.
