SPREAD EAGLE HS 1 - History
THE MILLBROOK AREA HAS LARGELY BEEN USED AS A FARMING DISTRICT SINCE THE 19-C. THE SITE REFLECTS THE RURAL LAND USE HISTORY OF SUB-DIVIDED ALLOTMENTS OCCUPIED BY FARM OWNERS.SPREAD EAGLE HS 1 - Interpretation of Site
REMAINS OF A DOMESTIC RURAL HOMESTEAD THAT WAS ENTERED FROM SPREAD EAGLE ROAD. LACK OF DOMESTIC ARTEFACTS INDICATED THE HOUSE WAS LEFT FOR AN ALTERNATIVE DWELLING POSSIBLY LEFT TO DETERIORATE. THE PRESENCE OF WIRE CUT BRICKS AND CORRUGATED IRON ROOFING INDICATE THAT THE SITE IS LIKELY TO DATE TO LATE 19-C OR EARLY 20-C.
