Statement of Significance
Highly significant as it contains extensive in situ archaeological deposits relating to the former dwelling, Glencairn House, and its occupation during the 1860's. The site is in good condition and could potentially yield significant and accurate information relating to the areas former rural use as well as its historic past.

GLENCAIRN - History
Glencairn House owned by M. Holmes and occupied by R. Mountjoy during the 1860's. Located between Barrabool Road and the Barwon River, Glencairn House occupied a small area to the west of the 27 acre Glencairn property, which also incorporated stock yards (wynd 1992:27)
GLENCAIRN - Interpretation of Site
Site could represent the location of Glencairn House owned by M. Holmes and occupied by R. Mountjoy during the 1860's. The site has the potential to contain several brick and stone structures, pathways, supported the presence of extensive domestic artefact scatter.

GLENCAIRN - Heritage Inventory Description
Located on a slope overlooking a tributary of the Barwon River, the site is a series of cobbled areas adjacent to boxthorn bushes, a brick domed well, and extensive domestic artefact scatter
Large brick domed well with a cement render, several cobbled areas forming paths, flooring and possibly square foundations. Extensive domestic artefact scatter consisting of ceramic, glass, metal, slate and brick.
