STATEMENT OF SIGNIFICANCE
Architecturally, a near complete and skillfully designed house in a Queen Anne and Federation Bungalow style, which incorporates the fretted timber detailing typical of Geelong's Edwardian houses, is aptly designer for its corner location and contributes to a residential streetscape.
Historically little is known of Scott.

Residence - Physical Description 1
DESCRIPTION
Built with two frontages; one a residential in character facing Malop Street, the other almost commercial facing Swanston. The former has an elegant timber-detailed return verandah with half-timbered gable over, and the other has two stout piers and a gable, set on the building line. At the corner, a cupola marks the window bay which protrudes under the verandah where corrugated iron is used on most of the roof, the cupola is understandably of sheet metal with a central finial at its apex. The chimneys are unusual, with their truncated pyramid form, and single-pattern boards are used to effect as both wall-cladding and verandah frieze.
External Integrity
Generally complete, except for the unsympathetic fence replacement.
Streetscape
Closely resalted to adjoining sites in Malop Street precinct 3.06.
Residence - Physical Description 2
Mostly intact, rendered, hipped & gable roof clad in corrugated metal sheeting, cupola to front corner with octagonal drum, roughcast render to most gable ends, shingle boards. Decorative timber brackets & frieze to return verandah, timber balustrade appears recent. Projecting gable to south part of Swanston St facade (possibly infilled). Timber casement windows with leadlight to top part, non-original sash windows to north, timber door with highlight, rendered chimneys with corbelled brick capping & terracotta pots.
