MCCOLL HOUSE - History
The McColl family lived and worked in the district for over 100 years. The family, who lived in the district until the 1970s, selected land as well as working and managing the Mount Violet Estate.
MCCOLL HOUSE - Archaeological Significance
The site represents a selector's house which was likely occupied from the 1860s onwards. The place has moderate potential for subsurface archaeological deposits at the house site.

The site has a level plain topography. The place comprises a standing chimney, partially remaining basal foundation course of stone, garden beds and dry stone stockyards.
